Founded in 1926, Skagit Institute is located in the northwestern state of Washington, adjacent to Seattle and Vancouver, Canada. It is a two-year community college with a diploma for the corresponding diploma, with 4,418 students enrolled, including nearly 160 international students from 20 countries, accredited by the Northwestern University and College Board. Skagit Valley College was ranked 19th in the 2010 Community College rankings published in the Washington Monthly.

At Skagit Valley College, you can enjoy the No-TOEFL policy, small class teaching and state-of-the-art instructional facilities. International student support services include a full-time International Courses Office, free counseling services, residential or homestay options, course advice and transfer counseling. Graduates of the Skagit Valley College have successfully transferred to four-year colleges throughout the United States, such as Washington University, Washington State University, UC Davis and New York State University. In addition to having an outstanding degree program for transfer students, the school also offers a variety of vocational courses, intensive English programs and high school diploma courses. As a two-year public community school, its tuition fees are low, so families can save a lot of money in the first two years and international students can apply for scholarships in the second year as a way to reduce tuition fees. In addition, international students with outstanding academic records may also work on campus for a maximum of 15 hours per week.

Graduates of the Skagit Valley College have successfully transferred to four-year colleges throughout the United States, such as Washington University, Washington State University, UC Davis and New York State University.

In addition to having an outstanding degree program for transfer students, the school also offers a variety of vocational courses, intensive English programs and high school diploma courses. Our Intensive English Program is aimed at students who need help in English, to build a solid foundation in their language skills and to make greater use of them in college. Intensive English Program students will enjoy small class teaching and additional tutoring assistance. The High School diploma at Skagit Valley College is a unique opportunity for students to earn a high school diploma and an associate’s degree. This course is for all students, regardless of whether they have been in high school for several years or not, and must be over 16 years of age.

If you choose Skagit Valley College, your study abroad expenses will be greatly reduced. As a two-year public community school, our tuition fees are half or less than that of a four-year university. Therefore, if you study in our university in the first two years, you can save a lot of money. Although Skagit Valley College does not offer scholarships or grants to international students in its first year, international students can apply for fellowships in their second year as a way to reduce tuition fees.
